Hunter Bohannan-Rohwer, CGC

November 29, 2012 ~ July 3, 2020 (age 7)

Cabin Creek Hunter Macneill Bohannan Rohwer, CGC “Hunter” was born on November 29, 2012 and passed away peacefully in his mom and dad’s arms with his beloved Aunt and faithful companion/sister, Memphis, by his side on July 3, 2020

Hunter completed extensive training in hopes of becoming a therapy dog to work along side his mom. Hunter frequently visited many nursing homes and provided to support to anyone in need whom he met. Hunter obtained his CGC certification on April 1, 2014. Unfortunately he was unable to complete his therapy certification due to complex illness. However, his journey was far from over. Hunter was able to touch the lives of more people in his short time on earth than his parents could have ever imagined. To say we are beyond proud of him will be never enough.

Hunter also affectionately known as: “Bug”, “Bubs”, “Hunter Bo”, “Bubba”, “Bug a boo”, and “bubbador” loved all creatures big and small. He thoroughly enjoyed making friends with bugs and dressing up in his favorite gator costume. If the family Halloween theme did not incorporate a gator, it didn’t happen. Hunter loved celebrating every holiday and made sure he was able to watch fireworks every year with his family. You could always find Hunter helping dad cooking in the kitchen, never to miss out on strawberries or blueberries. Hunter was an avid lover of water including swimming in Bull Shoals Lake, his pool in the backyard or playing in the hose. Couch time while watching wrestling with dad and snuggles with mama were always a must. Hunter faithfully snuggled his buddy “roadkill the skinee raccoon” every night as he slept. Hunter also loved his family with every ounce of his heart. He was a kind and gentle soul. Hunter always made sure his sister had her favorite bunny and watched over her as a big brother should. He was his mama’s best friend and his dad’s faithful companion.

He leaves behind his human family: mom and dad, Jessica and Benton Bohannan; fur-sisters, Memphis Erié Rohwer Bohannan, CGC and Maisy Mae Latimer; Grandparents Albert and Karen Latimer, Rich and Brenda Bohannan; Aunt and Uncle, Erin and Chaz Jonassen; and many extended family members and friends including his favorite veterinary teams at Novak-Rinker Veterinary Clinic and Purdue University Animal Behavior Clinic. He was preceded in death by his fur-brother Theodore G. Pig.

He was our favorite hello and hardest goodbye. He will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on.

In lieu of Dog Biscuits, Memorials can be given to Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine In Memoriam Program.
